Who we are

Together, we travel the world covering women’s cricket. We’ve now covered eight World Cups (and counting!) and have sat in press boxes in England, Australia, South Africa and the Caribbean.

In March 2020, Syd asked Raf to marry him in front of Sydney Harbour Bridge. After a bit of Covid interruption (!), we finally tied the knot in London in May 2022.

We live in South West London.

Raf is the world’s leading historian of women’s cricket.

Her book The Women in Whites: A History of Women’s Cricket in England was shortlisted for the Cricket Media Club’s 2026 Book of the Year.

Reviews:

"Raf Nicholson has become the go-to voice on women's cricket history. She has now written its go-to book... This is the closest the genre will ever have to The Female Eunuch." --The Cricketer

"Raf's passion for women's cricket oozes from every word. It should be required reading for every current and future professional woman cricketer in England." --Martin Davies, Women's Cricket Blog

"A fabulous book." --Dan Norcross, BBC Test Match Special

Syd is a computer programmer with over 40 years of experience.

He specialises in data visualisation and data analysis, and is never happier than when he’s watching cricket and producing live graphs.

He watched Berkshire back in their heyday when Claire Taylor, Isa Guha and Heather Knight were the team’s stars.
